B.A. Psychology and Religion Full-time

2024/25 Session

Students taking the Theology and Religion dissertation must take the pre-requisite T&R dissertation module in their 2nd year.
Students taking the Project in Psychology must take both pre-requisite modules Research Methods C and D in their 2nd year.

Students must choose 20 credits from each of the three lists of Psychology; Theology and Religion; Psychology of Religion.
Students are reminded that their third year dissertation/Project options each have a pre-requisite module in second year, meaning students must take either Methods C+D, or Dissertation Preparation.
These credits can count toward fulfilment of the 20 credits per subject area requirement above.

The remaining credits can be chosen as any combination of modules across these lists, and may include one cross-CAL future skills module, which will be advertised at the point of module choice.
Students must choose a 60/60 credit balance across the two semesters.

Students are reminded to consider their ultimate degree pathway when choosing modules to ensure that they have the opportunity to fulfil the required minimums in both Psychology and Theology and Religion in their third year. Please note that the Psychology of Religion list count toward the Theology and Religion credits for pathway purposes. More information about pathways is included below.

Pathways available
Year 1 will be the same for all students. Upon completion of this year, students will continue to take modules in all three categories (T&R, Psychology, and Psychology of Religion), but can decide whether they would like to specialize in T&R or Psychology for their dissertation/ Project. At this point, there are several pathways available.

1) Joint Major/Minor, with major in T&R with a minor in Psychology, and dissertation in T&R. For this pathway, taking the T&R dissertation preparation module in their 2nd year is a pre-requisite. Must take at least 160 credits in T&R and 100 credits in Psychology across the three years of the programme.

2) Joint Equal, with dissertation in T&R. For this pathway taking the T&R dissertation preparation module in their 2nd year is a pre-requisite. Must take at least 160 credits in both T&R and Psychology across the three years of the programme.

3) Joint Equal with Project in Psychology. For this pathway, taking both Research Methods C and D in their 2nd year is a pre-requisite. Must take at least 160 credits in both T&R and Psychology across the three years of the programme.

Students must choose at least 20 credits of Psychology modules. (Research Methods may be counted toward fulfilment of the 20 credit subject area requirement for Psychology).
